Piano Playing with my Toes

I got a new exercise paper last week. 

There are these exercises in it:         

  1. Piano Playing: toes go up and down, one at a time.
  2. Tendu and Croix: you Point your foot and she wants us to know what is the difference of it
  3. Demi-Pointe balance: you haft to stand on your toes and balance
  4. Side lifts: you have to lay on your side and lift up your whole waist and legs and make sure that your feet do not touch together
  1. Turnout Ex. in Retire': 
  2. Piriformis stretch:
  3. Bug legs(A):
  4. Three-Legged Cat-V2:
  5. Hip flexor stretch:

Today I have my ballet practice.

I'm so excited about my upcoming performance.



There are Lots of Plans for December

There are lots of plans for December. One of the plans is that Noelle and Cameron are going to take me to my first performance on Thursday because my dad and my mom are not going to my first performance. My mom and my dad are going to see it on Friday, which is the second performance day. 

My Opa and Oma are also going to my second dance performance. Tante Tanja and my cousins are going too. My older brothers, Caleb and Jonathan, are not coming to either of the performances. Caleb is in Petaluma and Jonathan is in Dan Diego. That’s why they can’t come. 

My friends Abby and Sophie do hip-hop and tap at Selah Dance Academy and they are going to be there at both performances as dancers. We sit at different spots in the theatre by dance style as we wait our turn to go on stage. That means we can see each other dance our different parts of the performance. My teacher, Miss Mary, she said we might get our first letter of our name put on our waiting seats. 

For Thanksgiving

For my performance all of my brothers and my sisters are going to it to watch me and my Opa and Oma are going to be there. Noelle’s boyfriend might come too.

For Thanksgiving we are going to eat at our house with our relatives. Uncle Mark and Aunt Sherri will Skype to say hi because they are in Florida. My brother Jonathan is flying in from San Diego. My brother Caleb Is driving in from from Petaluma. He is going to be here for the big meal and we might have Martinelli drinks there too!

My ballet practice is canceled due to the holiday.

She Corrected Me

My teacher Miss Zoanne wanted us to explain how to do the new exercises to her. We already did it once, but we have to do it again I don’t really know why but I think it’s because they really want us to know them. 

The other pointe teachers might ask us the new exercises to make sure that we know them. If a pointe teacher ask us to do the exercise, I might do the wrong exercise.

For a example last time she asked me to explain to her how to do the kneeling exercise. I got it wrong. I had explained the three Legget cat exercise instead. She corrected me. Now I know.

  • Parallel to turnout 
  • Functional turnout
  • Performance stretch
  • Single leg rises turned out
  • Cat stretch 
  • Three legged cat 
  • Wall press 
  • Gluteal stretch

Some of the new exercises are hard for me because it is hard to follow the moves on the videos.
